It all started on that rainy day.

I was running home from work and as I always had bad luck, that day was the only day I forgot my umbrella. Only really, I didn’t forget to bring one. I lent it yesterday to a colleague because she was too scared that the unseen rain would ruin her hair, so I gave her my umbrella and walked away.

It didn’t rain yesterday.

So I was running home, using my soaked-to-life brown leather bag to cover my head. Taking the usual route, I would go pass this bridge of love where lovers, tourists, soon to be exes, and new couples bought fancy locks and keys to declare their love for each other.

Obviously, I didn’t buy that. If there was a research, I bet 87 per cent of these people have broken up.

And that, was when I met him.

“So, what’s to write?” I ask myself.

I’m sitting here on bed, my big sister sleeping (not so) soundly beside me with the lights off, and I have been staring at a blank ‘Add New Post’ Wordpress page for a long time. My parents were still watching some movies outside – perhaps they feel like it’s a little bit too early to sleep at twenty two past ten at night.

And while I am typing this on my Mac, my sister suddenly whispers, “Silent.” I guess it’s the typing. Perhaps it’s time to change to my iPad.

Okay, so where were we?

Ah, yes, writing.

So I woke up this morning and found out that my previously viral article was going viral once again. Of course, I felt ecstatic by this development. More readers join my subscribers list and others drop a comment or two to encourage me to keep writing.

And yet among all these, I’ve gotten my fair share in hateful comments too.

Perhaps our parents are right. If you don’t have nice things to say to someone, it’s better to not say anything at all.

…or at least, try to be diplomatic.

Have you ever taken a real, hard look at your closet? If you’re a little bit like me, I bet you haven’t worn half of them for the past year (actually, I haven’t worn any of the clothes in the past 1.5 years. Well, I have been away!). But seriously, I’m so bad at throwing things away. Even though deep inside I know I wouldn’t use it again.

So two days ago I arrived in Melbourne. I spent the entire last night to turn my closet upside down, rearranging the clothes and getting sentimental with some gifts, photos, and cards from the old days. I went through all my possessions I had left behind. Then I noticed that all my notes and subject guides – remnants from my old Bachelor’s life. I wanted to throw them away. But I couldn’t. It just felt wrong. Like, what if I need to consult those pages again in the near future?

Yes, I collect junk.

I sent my Mom to the airport yesterday (she was going to Singapore to cuddle my baby nephew for me) and one sentence popped into my mind: “She is beautiful.”

She has that glow – a glow that all mothers have, and she is just graceful. No, not because of her clothes, nor physical appearance. She just is.

Yet, my Mom was going with a heavy heart because this time, I couldn’t accompany her to Singapore, nor would I accompany her for the months and years to come. Inside, I felt sad myself. My parents would lose their youngest daughter, yet again.

I’m moving.

I don’t think I’m fun being to be with.

Like, the reason pranks are so popular and memes rule the internet is because they are fun, right? They bring light towards this dark world, providing a sincere distraction on the reality we face which consists of doubt, worry, hatred, mistake, difficult choices, bad luck, and so on, so forth.

We watch Korean Reality TV show Running Man to fill our brains with one and a half hour of worry-free environment. We stroll along 9gag to discover new stuffs that offer some kind of entertainment.

June will be over soon, and here comes July.

Here comes the time when we say goodbye to the first half of the year. Here is the time when we welcome the untold adventures, waiting in the next (even better) part of the year.

Truth to be told, I haven’t been writing that much. I’ve forgotten about my stats and analytics and I’m enjoying my dates with my boyfriend. I immerse myself in the laughs of my baby nephew. I pick my lazy self out of the house and do some catch up with my good friends. And yes, I’ve been trying to pack and repack and put things into order.

In a sense, I’m counting days.

I’m counting days to start a new chapter.

I guess every now and then we need a reminder. About trust. It’s something that people may give to us freely – for them to trust us, to trust our words, our actions. And yet sometimes, we take it for granted. We abuse it.

When you truly lost a trust is when you regret of everything you did. Like the shepherd, sometimes we didn’t think of the consequence of our actions. Only after everything is said and done, we weep out of our own ignorance. Because when you finally tell the truth, no one will believe you.

I am not a political person. In fact, I’m far from being interested in politics. While my boyfriend was watching the Indonesian presidential debate on YouTube, I was texting him, asking why he ignored my messages. Isn’t it ironic?

For those of you who are non-Indonesians, our country, for the first time (I might say), has a very heated debate on which president should we vote for. Supplemented and supported by the internet and social media, the debate, sometimes, goes out of hand. I begin to see namecalling and people trying to persuade others to choose the president that he is rooted for. Boy, this begins to get unhealthy.
